Bad Form Artist Services looks to breathe new life into an already burgeoning music scene in Ottawa.
With hundreds of artists releasing new music in the capital each year, there is a lack of music companies out there to help develop strategies and materials to get that music out there for the rest of the world to hear.
We’re going to change that.
Bad Form was started by Matías Muñoz, the founder and editor of the music website and concert promoter Ottawa Showbox. Matías has gathered a group of writers, artists, and photographers under the umbrella of Bad Form to provide key services to independent musicians. Not only has Matías bolstered the music scene by supporting it through Showbox, but he’s also developed a wide network of relationships ranging from record labels, publicists, promoters, festival organizers, music media, venues, and many more. A passion for independent music is the lifeblood that runs through the veins of Bad Form Artist Services.
Matías has spoken at music industry panels organized by the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition, consulted with festivals such as RBC Ottawa Bluesfest and CityFolk regarding local artist programming, co-presented concerts along with Arboretum Festival, Ottawa Explosion, Marvest (CityFolk), Chinatown Remixed, and built the Showbox Concert Series at St. Alban’s Church to become an institution in Ottawa’s music landscape. He’s been featured on the front page of the Arts section of the Ottawa Citizen, CBC, Apt613, and many more.
